Default Rules for the canadian meet and greet game

Posted here are the rules for the upcoming meet and greet game. MilsimTeamPaintball, Devil's Legion, and Battlecry Wargames have agreed to the following rules, and though they are numbered, each one has equal importance:

General Safety

1. Masks are to be kept on at all times on the field. The only place a mask can be removed is the staging area. If for whatever reason your mask should fog, or you cannot navigate off of the field, then you must seek the assistance of a staff member to escort you. Under no circumstances should your mask be removed.

2. Chronograph speed is 290 fps. Markers will be chrono'd before the start of the day, and again randomly throughout the scenario. Absolutely no tools will be allowed.

3. Barrel covers must be on markers at all times when they are in the staging area/neutral area. If the marker has a safety button/switch, then the marker must be set to SAFE. No exceptions.

4. Mercy rule. This is a rule, and NOT an option. If you are able to get to within 10-15 feet of your opponent unseen, give them the chance to surrender. Give them a couple of seconds to react; if they show no sign of surrendering, put ONE paintball into a padded areas of the body (vest, pod pack, etc). Yelling at someone from a distance is not mercy. Give mercy, and you will be shown mercy.

5. Wiping and cheating in ANY form will not be tolerated. This includes intentionally playing on KNOWING you have been hit. Wiping paint from your body/gear, etc. Everyone knows the definition of cheating. Remember, this is a game, we are here to have fun.

6. Blind firing is not allowed. Blind firing is this: you come to a building or other barrier. You put your marker around the corner, above the branches, etc, WITHOUT seeing where you are shooting. For all you know, there is someone at the end of the barrel when you start firing, and they get hit in an exposed, or unprotected area. This can cause major damage to the person hit. DON"T do it. If you are still unsure of what this is, ask at the game, and we will demonstrate.

7. Paintball hits. If a paintball hits you and breaks, you are eliminated. If the round hits, but does not break, it is an honor call on your part. In the case the ball hits, and you call yourself out, but then find the paint didn't break, too bad.......you called yourself out. Paint marks must be bigger than a quarter in size for you to be eliminated. Splatter from a break on twigs, etc, does not count. If you have been hit by a grenade, the paint must be bigger than a quarter from a grenade hit for you to be eliminated.

When you are hit, you must call "HIT" as loud as you can, and say it often. Raise your hand, and proceed to exit the area as quickly as possible (without putting yourself in the way of other players shooting around you)

If you think you have been hit, but are not sure, call for a "paintcheck". Call for the closest referee to check you for paint hits. If the ref determines you are clean, you are good to go. If they say you are out, raise your hand, and call yourself out; also leave the field as quickly as possible.

8. Overshooting. This is the act of intentionally shooting someone more than is necessary. We understand that some markers can shoot 25+ balls per second, but if you see that the person you are shooting at is out, DO NOT send another burst at them. That is a form of cheating, and will not be tolerated.

9. Dead men don't talk. Simply put, when you are out, the only thing you say until you get to the respawn area is "OUT", "I'M HIT". If you are found to be communicating with your teammates (revealing opposing numbers, locations, etc), you will be removed from the game. This is another form of cheating.

10. Dead man's walk. Again, another form of cheating. DMW is walking down the field with your marker down, hands down, moving past the opposing team. Once past the other players, the DMW turns and shoots the player(s) from behind. This won't be tolerated.

11. Alcohol and drugs. These substances are not allowed on the field for any reason. If you have a desire to party the night before, show some restraint at the appropriate time so you are not intoxicated the following morning. Anyone believed to be under the influence of alcohol or other narcotics will be removed from the field. The same applies to anyone found with either at the field.

12. There is a maximum of 20 bps allowed for all markers. Any marker that is capable of shooting more than this must be capped at 20. No exceptions

Marker and Equipment Restrictions

1. Any marker designed for paintball is acceptable. The marker must fire no faster than 290 fps.

2. No home made ordinance is allowed. The marker must be designed for the use in a paintball game. Commercially produced items such as undermount grenade launchers are fine.

3. First strike rounds for the Tiberius markers are allowed. You must supply the first strike rounds.

4. Pistols of either calibre are allowed. If you have a .43 cal pistol, you must supply the paint for it.

5. Home made, and commercially purchased grenades are fine. There is only one restriction on grenades: they cannot be detonated by any form of primer.

Again, even though these are numbered, each rule has equal importance. I'm sure I have missed one (or more).

If anyone has questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Awesome. Rules are exactly as I expected. I'll be happy to be travelling to the field on Friday.
