This past Saturday, August 15th, I played for the second time at Fort Knox. For the first time to this they have added some new stuctures and obsticle that really added to the whole experience.
Fort Knox Paintball
The field fee for the big game was one of the most affordable aroung that I've seen. It was $25 for preregister and only $30 the day of the game. They do have rates for groups and rates work walk play as well.
They also offer up rently equipment.
One of the most eye grabbing thing when you go to their site and start reading is the fact they are BYOP. In these tough economical times when a field is willing to do that it makes it more worth wild to go. This is a huge selling point for me.
To me the greatest thing about this is the staff, the more very personable. You can walk up to the owner talk to and he'll look you in the eye and talk to for how ever long (as long as he's not busy running a game). The Refs are the same, they do their best to make certain that they call things. Granted noone can see everything and people should know that, but, these guys do quite well.
The only draw back I have seen on both trips up there, has been their HPA air compressor. Both game because of the number of players that turned out, the system couldn't keep up. They did try to over come this by having a remote HPA fill staition. It consisted of two stand up air tanks which they were able to give players 3k.
To their credit they stated at the end of the game Saturday, they had a problem, they know it and it will be fixed by the next time they have a big game. Kudos for them for that.
They do also offer Co2 for those that bring friends that run Tippys on Co2.
Fields: I give 9.5 only because I know they aren't done building things and opening up their wooded area yet.
Staff: I give a 10. They are a top notch group of people.
Cost: I give a 10. You just can't be the fact you can bring your own paint (as long as it's not Monster balls from Waldo World, it's banned at the field).
Air: I have to give a 5, this is only because my highest fill of the day was 4k on my 45k tank. It steadly went down from there.
My over all experience with the field from the two times I would give an 8.75, real close to a 9.
I do recomend this field for any one that is close to it from the surround states, I think it is worth the trip.
Edit note--The number on the right have to do with a combonation of the above numbers.
