This is a discussion on Virtue board for the Dye Rotor within the Gear section, part of the Other Markers and Equipment category; I just traded my SP1 for a Rotor and it came with the Virtue Soft Gear installed. Not knowing much ...

I just traded my SP1 for a Rotor and it came with the Virtue Soft Gear installed. Not knowing much about it, I went on their site and got looking around. I stumbled upon the board and am wondering if it's worth the money. I have the Virtue board and eyes in my Mini already, and love them, but the Rotor seems so simple, no complex settings or modes, just turn it on and it goes. Does anyone have it? What are the major benefits of it over stock? Thanks in advance...

My sentiments exactly. The Rotor already works as advertised. I think the board is just for people with money burning holes in their pockets.

Kinda thought that too... The guy I got it from said he decided he likes the Prophecy better because it is a tiny bit lighter and jams less. I haven't read or heard anywhere that the Rotor has jamming issues, but that doesn't mean anything... My Mini with Virtue board installed fires at 25bps maxed out, which is only half the Rotors advertised speed , so it should keep up without a problem, I would think. If it does have a jamming issue, could it be because the tension spring is too tight?

I think one of the main pros of the virtue board is the tension settings. You can lighten it up so not so much stress is on the balls.
I have had jamming issues but nothing that the lever on the bottom of the rotor couldn't resolve.

My Rotor has had some jamming issues as well but just like Kanuck that is the exact reason they installed the anti-jam lever on the bottom

I thought you could adjust the tension with the turn of a screw without a Virtue board?

You may be right, Tigar. I've never messed with any settings on my rotor. There really is no need.

I experienced my first Rotor jam this weekend. An odd shaped ball got stuck in the feedneck and the anti-jam trigger wouldn't unjam it. Mine doesn't have the sharkfin version so maybe that's why. I did start thinking about adjusting the tension which is done by a screw on the motor casing I believe.

Tiger is right about the screw to adjust the tension. I watched a video on youtube where Mike from Techpb gives a very in depth comparison between the Rotor, Pinokio, and the Prophecy. It didn't say much more than there is a screw there. I'm not sure which way to turn it to either tighten it, or loosen it,or by how much. I don't have the manuel to read up on it either.
