As far as whether or not your Mini is up to par, just get out and shoot it. I had two different Minis, one with mostly Gen 1 parts and one with mostly Gen 2 parts. I never had a problem with either of them. I even had the dreaded Gen 1 poppet in one of them. Just play a few games with it how you get it and go from there. It will become apparent very quickly if your Mini needs anything. I highly recommend a roller bearing trigger such as the CP or Ruthless Paintball triggers.
