Hello everyone! I'm new here and just got my first Mini. I made the switch to the Mini from a Phenom because I just got tired carrying all that weight. I decided to go for a very light marker and hopper combo. ...and seeing how I had some money to burn I decided to start off with some upgrades right away:
Virtue OLED board + RF transmitter Freak barrel Empire regulator Vlocity Jr w/ Virtue board + RF receiver And to keep it even lighter I use a remote line - I have a 90cu in tank so why bother getting another tank? I read all the forums on how to set it up: the right pressure on the reg, made sure it was lubed properly, synced the TX and RX, set the Max ROF to 15bps to break it in for the first day of play, kept it on semi and just had fun. By pure luck it chronoed perfectly on the first shot and didn't fluctuate at all (seriously, no joke here, I never had a gun chrono perfect on the first shot). So my first day with the Mini went like this: WOW! I'll just keep it simple and say I'm sticking with the dark side.

LOL and welcome to the darkside! you might change your mind about that 90 cu tank,I have a 91 cu and a 68. The 91 never sees play cause you'll never need that much air!

Welcome to IOG and the darkside. I ran my mini on remote and an 88 crossfire for a few days and then hated being tethered to a vest. I now rock a 68 ninja on marker and love it. I also dumped the vest for a Dye Pod pack and am amazed at the freedom of movement I have now. I can actually sprint to a bunker and not lumber.

Yup, the mini is only the gateway marker to the darkside. But a great marker none the less. I would reconsider the 90ci because its quite bulky, if you can swing it then I'd consider a 68ci tank.

I run a ninja 50 and preffer it over the 68. Get everything closer and tighter. If you're going "mini" for your marker why go "maxi" on the tank, it's not neccesarry.

I like using a vest over a small pod pack because I play some big scenario games and having water in a camelback reservoir is a life saver. But I did switch to a lighter vest: the Valken V Tac Echo. It keeps all the pods and tank on me real tight, and my remote line is long enough to where I can switch shooting hands easily. Also, if I used a smaller tank, I'd have to leave the game more often to get air. Not a good thing for those big scenario games.
My next project is to paint the hopper with a multicam pattern. |

I like the echo vest. It's sewn together pretty well and very light. However, the chest buckle broke when a paintball hit it. I think the guy was shooting a little hot because he was pretty far away, but the buckle was easily fixed.

I completely agree with Megas on this one....light 'n tight all the way. The Mini is great on air so a stubby, even a 45, is the way to go. Trade that big boy in, someone out there wants it!
