Default some advise please.

hello all. I have been thinking about getting a mini and need some pointers. I know they can be picked up for not big money second hand but is there any issues i should be aware of going down this route? Mabe a few bugs on the earlier models?

You can't go wrong with a mini, if you read a little on this forum you will find most of the issues with the gen 1 and 2 minis. However you really won't spend too much to get a gen 3 with all the bugs worked out... Welcome to the board!

What S2o Said. If you get a Gen1, you can easily bring it up to speed with a new poppit.

thanks guys. I've been offered one for £140, but which version it is i don't know. Apparently if its in a red cardboard box (which it is) rather than a hard case it means its a later one. Does this sound like a good enough deal?

140 pounds is about $228 USD. That's probably on the high side of what it is worth depending on the condition. Ask him if he can take some pics and if he knows which poppet the marker has.

Keep in mind the Brits pay about double what Americans pay for hobby stuff (even factoring in the higher Pound and VAT etc.)

That deal is a bit high by US standards but might be ok in the UK. Check the other deals in your area for a better idea of pricing. But ya, $200 usd for a newer Mini is "ok" by anyone's standards.

managed to get it for £120.00 ($197.71). Yet to get my grubby mitts on it but hoping to use it next weekend instead of my TM7. many thanks for the help all.
