I have a Freak with stainless steel inserts, an All American 14" front, and a 12" Stiffi front. I haven't ran the stock barrel exceot for in my back yard. I was just so impressed by how the Mini shoots so much better than any Tippmann I have had that I have never even compared the barrels.

Oh I highly doubt I will be getting rid of it. I really really like the looks of it, just don't have a chance to test it out for a while. I like the front loading sizers, and how they lock into place. That's kinda cool.

yep. and the freak. and a deadlywind. and a sly. in order of those.... deadlywind, python, freak, everything else on the planet (including a toilet paper tube), and then the sly. the deadlywind beats out the python b/c its lighter and quieter and just dead sexy! the python, though, is significantly more economical and performs well.

I've been eying the deadlywind barrels for some time but since my Hammerhead has not failed me in the least, I've been having nothing but good times with it. Nice and quiet and gives me the best accuracy I could get. Though I'm going to get the freak adapter and get the back with inserts. Changing fins is too much of a pain and a bigger chance of stripping the threads so I'm thinking of the future of my barrels unfortunately. LOL Haven't tried my new M50 muzzle brake but hopefully within' the next few weeks I will. Maybe I'll have it done up on my Mini for all I know. Darn thing looks too dang cool.

One thing I will say barrel wise, a bore kit of any kind will definitely give you better control on performance level. However, that can only be if the paint to bore is consistant bag after bag. I've ran into some problems before with some bags containing larger or smaller than normal sizes and it can really take away the performance you expect your barrel to have. Then again, there's just too many factors that could be the cause of that. Stick with what works for you and you'll be just fine. For me, it's Hammerhead period. For anyone else, it's what is working for them, not what isn't.

if you play in the early morning, chances are that your bore sizer to paint match will be different than it will in the mid afternoon b/c of the temp difference (unless you're using something to regulate temperature at which your paint is being stored).

also, how much trouble can it be to unscrew a fin and screw a different one on? if you have a freak back, you're still going to have to unscrew the barrel to switch sizers out, so it seems like an unwise use of money to get a new back and a new set of sizers. you're looking at another ~$100 on a kit that is already one of the more expensive out there.

to each his own, but this seems a bit redundant to me.

Well think about this mate, unscrew the barrel and fin off the marker, then unscrewing the fin off the marker, screwing another one on, then screw the barrel/fin onto the marker. What are the chances of threads crossing if you did this every game compared to with just a freak back where you only have to remove the inserts? I've had a long thought about this and I'm already starting to notice this with my fins. I want my equipment to last long and I do take care of them.

Might be unwise spent money at the time but it would save you money in the end, don't you think? Let's say you only had to replace one insert compared to replacing a fin? $5 vs $35. Ouch. That's just how I look at it. It's just a forethought after all. You do have a good point G-FOURce.
