i have never shot a revolver kit. i have owned a freak and it worked well, though not any better than most other control bore options.
when you say that you "could not believe the change in it" are you referring to the performance gain over the stock barrel or another kit? |

Welcome to the IOG, MMM.
Is that like MMM Good? ![]() Same here on the revolver... I have not tried one. I do like my Deadly Winds and Full Stainless freak kit though She shoots like a dream.

The stock barrel is sized at .691 so if your local field uses paintballs that are bigger or smaller then a barrel kit will definately improve your marker's performance. Although, I have been quite impressed with my stock barrel's performance.
While most barrel kits are 2 piece kits (1 front and multi-sized backs), the Freak barrel system is a 3 piece kit. Piece 1 is the Front and Smart Parts makes fronts in various sizes and shapes. Piece 2 is the Back. The front screws onto the back and the back screws into your marker. You'll need a back that has the appropriate threads to fit your marker. Piece 3 is called the Insert. It is a 6" tube of various sizes (.687, .689, .691, etc)that you "insert" into the back. The beauty of the Freak system really comes into play when you have multiple markers with different barrel threads. Let's say I own a Tippmann X7 (A5 threads) and an Invert Mini (autococker threads). I would be able to use the same Front and Insert on both markers and would only have to buy 2 backs. So, you do not have to buy another complete barrel kit. Get it? Edit - welcome to the IOG! Edit 2 - Kanuck, it's M N M like the candy or the rapper. LOL

Doh! You're right!
I should also add that the Deadly Winds is a single piece barrel. The freak inserts naturally go in the end of the barrel that threads into the marker.

Good point! I was very very impressed with my new Deadlywinds carbon fibur barrel. I had to drop down to a .689 Freak insert. It was sooo quiet that all I heard was movement of the internals and my Pinokio spinning. It was also impressively dead one and I don't impress easily.

I just bought a brand new revolver kit for quite inexpensive; should be here today. I currently have been using the traditional two piece barrel kit from empire, and haven't been overly impressed with it, so I'm hoping the revolver kit being the three piece design will be a bigger improvement over stock. I actually prefer the stock barrel to my empire kit I have now. The revolver kit is also a clone of the scepter kit, so different backs should be available I believe.

I have a Dye UL 2 piece. The Back is a .688 and the front bored to a .692 with heavy porting. The price of the barrel itself is half the same price i bought my Mini for Brand New, but its been the best investment i ever made. Its Dead on accurate i havent field it yet, but i have shot broomstck handles. Its consistant as long as you keep the gun steady. Put it this way:
"ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS THINK WHERE THE BALL IS GOING TO GO AND IT WILL GO THERE" Pair your mini with a good barrel, board, and Rotor and you are indistructable.

I can go on for pages about barrels. Most stock barrels are large bore ( usually .693 or bigger, ) so they can handle any size paint without breaking it. Getting any quality kit is a huge improvement if you shoot small or medium sized paint. Lots of people will argue one brand kit's superiority over another, but suffice to say, I've yet to see any appreciable difference between the usual suspects of aftermarket barrels so long as they had proper paint to bore matches.
