Hello everyone.

Today during a short trip from my home to a place about an hour away, a short stop, and the drive home, 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM, my apartment was broken into.

There was no sign of forced entry or anything else however I immediately noticed that my laptop and hard drive with everything I live with was missing. After clearing that no one was still inside, I looked around and found many things had been gone through. Every drawer had been gone through but nothing else was taken but my laptop.

The weird thing is that there was LOTS of expensive stuff around. Blu Ray movies, video games, game systems, iPod, DSLR Camera, the list goes on and on. Worst of all, passports and car titles. None of that was taken.

I immedietally called the police locally and an officer was sent over. While I do have my serial numbers and all, this aparently happened about a year ago in another apartment building nearby. The person was caught at that time and while its unclear as to whether or not he has been let out of jail or not, its always a posibility that its the same person. My building has cameras on every entrance, stairwell, and elevator so at some point today, they were caught on camera with or without my computer.

If the person decides to try and pawn the computer, I will very likely get it back. If they try to sell on the street, I'm out of luck for the most part. If I see it on the internet, I will do everything I can to get it back.

Well other than being insanely angry about the fact that my laptop was taken along with all of my work, music, pictures, movies, everything from the last 4 years, worst of all, I had almost everything for my slowly growing Hoot Grip Designs.

All of my work is now gone, my program for making the grips is gone, the many templates I had made and gotten from SPD is now gone, EVERYTHING. The only thing I have left is the few finalized grips that were on my portfolio on Photobucket.

Here is the point to this all:

Because of this, I want to let everyone know that Hoot Grip Designs is indefinitely on hold until I get a replacement computer or the police find mine. This could be as little as a week or as much as a month. Even when that happens, I may not even have a chance for a while after that.

To everyone who I was in the process of designing grips for, sorry.

To everyone looking forward to getting grips, sorry.

To everyone I just sent out grips to in the last day or two, I'm glad I was able to get those to you.


Thank you all for your support up to now with my grips and hopefully I will be able to get things up and running relatively soon.

I'm very sorry to hear it Hoot. I hope you are able to get your laptop back, and that the asshat that is responsible is found and punished.

Even though I don't live near you, I don't live that far away either so I will check my local Craigslist listings for it. Ya never know.

This reminds me when not to far back someone broken into my dad's house. There was no sign of forced entry and nothing was gone. He was the only one in our house exept for our dog who we think scared him off . But what happened was my dad got home and saw that there was a drawer from his night table was lying in the middle of the floor. He being a former cop and currently in the military grabbed his .357 then called my stepmother and told her to stay on the line and call the police if she hurt gun shots. He then cleared the house. Once he was done he called the police and they sent an officer over. sense nothing was stolen there was nothing they could really do but we made sure to change the lock. We had been thinking about who could have possibly had a key for our house that would do such a thing. We are very careful and only give keys to people we truly trust. And then it hit us. There is a boy in our neighborhood that I used to play with alot when I was young. We gave them a key once because he was going to watch our dog for a week while we were out of town. Lately he has been going in a bad direction. Lets just say he has become a little sketchy. What we think happened was that he was bored one day and decided to come into our house to kill some time (I dont want to sound like a mean person but this kid is pretty messed up and thats why we thought that). That would also explain why our dog didnt do anything. He is a very protective 100+ pound german shepherd so he isnt exactly the dog that would just sit there and watch. We called his mom to ask if we could have our key back (we did it to everyone) and when she asked him he started freaking out.

Sorry for rambling. I know you have alot better things to worry about and Im not gonna say I feel or pain cause you lost your entire computer through this.
