Hey guys...
this happened to me earlier this month, i got a shoulder injury that day so i've been in and out of the interwebs since to post it (this incident is unrelated to the shoulder injury). i just want to share this info with you...some of you may know about it but some may not, i had personally never thought about it before so i just thought i might could save someone else the trouble... during an outing of play with my mini, i had ran my tank almost empty...had right around 500psi in it. instead of trekking up to the fill station, i decided to just swap tanks and keep playing since i have a second backup HPA tank. i degassed the marker with the TSO, removed the tank, laid it down and picked up the second tank. you know how most regs will hold one to two shots in the regulator after being degassed, and then eventually the mini reg will dump this air out the back of the asa. this usually takes a few minutes to dump on my mini, i'm not sure on other minis. so as i'm picking up my 2nd tank to screw onto my mini, it purges this air from the reg which instantly startles me (it normally takes longer than this for it to happen). what scared me even more was the punch i felt in the gut as i was holding the mini with the rear opening of the asa/reg facing my stomach. i look down and this small silver disc is laying between my feet. i look into the NDZ TSO and sure enough, the depression pin is gone... i couldnt find it anywhere, all i could find was the silver disc with the 2 orings on it. so the TSO was out of service... i emailed then called NDZ later that week, explained what happened to them. they were very nice and listened to my problem, but the only answer they had was, "Oh....yeah, that can happen if there is no tank on the gun with it purges." i had never thought about it before this happened. they sent my the pin and a new oring set out in the mail in exchange for $2.50 via paypal, and the TSO is back up and running great again. like i said, i had never thought about this happening. so when degassing your TSO's...make sure you either leave the tank on the gun until the reg dumps/purges that last remaining air and your gauge is sitting at zero OR pop a couple of shots (either actual paint or just dry fire) after degassing the TSO to empty the reg quickly and make sure the gauge is at zero. either way, check that gauge and make sure it is sitting on zero before unscrewing your tank... or your TSO could shoot its guts out too! it didnt hurt when it hit me and left no mark or anything, just kinda stung for a min like a bee sting maybe. what hurt more was not having my TSO to play with the rest of that day! |

Thanks for the heads-up!
You would think they would put a warning sticker on the bottom of it since they now know about it. I just don't understand why it would do tht without the tank being screwed in.

i'm seriuosly considering getting the Axe relay, mainly just to get the on/off capability and not have to worry with the TSO issues... and get to get back some of the length the TSO adds overall to the mini setup... |
