Default Freak or Fibur

So I am in the market for a new barrel and I like the idea of having a lot of bores to match paint. The Freak inserts seem to give the best bang for the buck but I noticed that the DW Fibur barrel can accept the inserts as well. My question is, have any of you used both the Freak/AA as well as the Fibur and what are your thoughts? I read Mann's barrel test on pbnation and one of his conclusions is that CF barrels have poor self cleaning properties. Is this something you have noticed? Thanks for the advice.

i have both, its true the fibur barrels don't clean as easy but they seem to be a better shot at least in my opinion.

The barrel I use on my Axe is a 14" Deadlywind Null CF barrel with the Techt iFit kit, works awesome! I was very pleased with the setup when I played at Decay of Nations and shot 4000 rounds through it with no breakage.

I sold my Freak AA and replaced it with a DW Fibur. I actually noticed an improvement. Since I rarely break paint I'm not worried about self cleaning, but if I were I would carry a squeegie on me.

If I didn't already have a DW and full stainless freak kit, this is exactly what I would purchase(in a 12 inch)

The DW Null will run you $60 and the Techt Ifit kit will run you $99 and $139 for the 6 piece and 9 piece respectively.
My DW swabs clean as a whistle so the Peanut Butter Nation test isn't true for the DW Fibur.

Good luck with your barrel purchase and keep us posted!

Default thanks

Thanks for the replies everybody! It looks like I will probably try the DW Fibur with the Freak kit. The iFit looks nice but I like the idea of a longer control bore with the Freak. Thanks again

when i was speaking about the cleaning i meant shooting it clean, not swabing it ... when i use my swab it always comes clean.
