Just saw this at the local paintball shop and was wondering if it was worth the purchase or just go with the Freak or a Sly kit. Any opinions or experience with this would be appreciated.

I had an ex-teammate who ran one on his A5 and he swore by it, I like the Freak kits or Deadly Winds better.

i have owned a number of barrel kits including the sly, freak barrel and inserts, a deadlywind, a python, and a number of two-piece barrels and of them all the sly was by far the worst. the python kit is a great value b/c it will utilize your existing barrels. i found the performance of the python to be every bit as good as the freak, but with the freak you have to by a back ($50), a front ($40) and the inserts ($70). the python will deliver the same performance and you'll have $100 more in your pocket!

my favorite of the kits, however, was the deadlywind fibur barrel. it'll cost the same as the freak set-up, but its lighter, quieter, and isnt subject to temperatures the way a metal barrel would be.

I'm 80% sure I'm going with the Deadly winds/ freak set up myself. I may try and pick up a Python kit for my A5 and loose the JJ edge elite kit I have now. Just to try something diffrent. I've been looking around and can't find anyone who doesn't like the Deadlywind barrel.

Me either. It's just a bit pricier than I want to spend. With the Python I can spend $70 now and closer to spring pick up a 10" Stiffi and I'll have a very similar result without having to drop $200 all at once.

Official report is that the Python sucks. I took it and the Stiffi MF barrel I bought for it back and bought a 10" Deadlywind and Freak inserts. G-Fource was on the money. Deadlywind is amazing in comparison.

I had the python kit for my x7....it didn't work at all...i think it's because the inserts where too small. My Airforce buddy looked at the sizes and couldn't believe that they where so small...
