I got the electro marker bug last weekend after playing with my friends modded ion. Before I had always used Tippmann Mechanical markers. After a whole day of play with the ion and the tippmann a5 sitting in the car i was sold.
The tippmann was on ebay that evening and ive been shopping for a electro marker that out of the box is great. I spent roughly $300 modding the Tippmann a5 along with cosmetic mods like a opsgear full UMP kit, so i dont want to do that again. I also took a trip to my local shop and fell for the mini. The axe feels nice but theres something about the size and how light the mini is. This forum has been a wealth of knowledge since I found it. Ive been debating on getting the empire on/off asa or the ndz threadsaver or just lowering the pressure on my ninja adjustable carbon fiber tank. Im still going through old posts. I like the empire on/off relay but it brings the price of a Mini to $400 new just $50 shy of the axe. So far im thinking the NDZ threadsaver is the way Im going. Ill post pics once i get my new Mini. Im waiting till black friday to see if any sales pop up. I also have a vlocity viewloader ready to go when I pick it up. |

Since I can't say welcome to the forum I'll start by saying thanks for participating. lol
The threadsaver on a Mini and the Empire ASA do exactly the same thing. The threadsaver will add a few inches to the overall length but it's a lot cheaper. I say go with the threadsaver unless those few extra inches really throws you off. I'm sure your local shop will let you screw one one before you buy it. Your thinking the exact same way I was when I went out looking for a replacement for my X7. Something that would work out of the box as advertised, quick and forgiving maintenance, and light weight. What color are you shopping for?

Since I do alot of woodsball Im leaning towards the Dust Olive. I know I could find one cheaper used but I figure Im supporting my local shop by buying new and Im guaranteed to get a v3 mini. They also have the Dust Olive sitting nice and pretty on the shelf.

You can't go wrong with a mini. I have owned 3. Gave one away to a member here who never posts anymore, sold one and gave my third to my nephew. He now rocks it like a champ. My primary now is an Axe. Good on you for supporting your local shop! Without customers like you, they will never survive.
