Default Well Im Bored

The title says it. Im getting bored of my REVI and want to upgrade (well doesnt have to be an upgrade just something different). I just want suggestions and reasons for a marker you guys think I should get. I would really like to have an OLED but iI could always upgrade it. Im start to look into PE more and more but you guys could change my mind pretty easily.

Also I have a few questions..

1. How do the Ego8 and Ego7 compare? Is the Ego8 worth the extra cost?

2. I also like the sounds of the Geo and Druid. How do they compare?

3. I dont know much about DMs but Iv heard good things.

Thanks for any help!

Get ab Eclipse marker no questions.

If you have the cash, just get the Geo+ or Etek3.

Both are fantastic markers and IMO are much better value than a DP.

I've been told the Etek 3 is pretty much the Ego 8. This probably doesn't help in your decision but just throwing that out there.

If you want a marker that shoots great, go with a Droid or a DM. If you want a super-reliable marker that a monkey could maintain, go with a PE. They're all high-end markers, so you won't be disappointed by any of your options.

I've owned a few PE markers and I've been happy with them. But, I run with a Droid now and I'm amazed by how well it shoots and won't look at a PE marker again (unless they can match the shot quality of a DM or Droid)

What kind of price range are you looking for?

If you want OLED, a used Ego 08 is a great choice or get an Etek3 LT and then for an extra 130 get the APE OLED board. I currently have the latter.

Thanks guys.

Im not really sure what price range Im looking for. I would deffently like to make a trade with the REV-I but Im sure Ill end up adding in almost any trade.

I like the sound of the Droid because I consider smooth shooting the most important part of a paintball gun.

I like PE because of duriblity and OLED.

Im thinking its just gonna come down to which one I find the best deal on.

here is what i would suggest you do.... make a list of things you absolutely must have in a marker and things you would like to have but that you can live without. then, make a second list of things you refuse to accept and things that you'd rather not have but can live with. now, go find all the markers that fit in your price range that meet the criteria you have in your lists. from that list of marker finalists you then need to decide which will be the best value and will offer you the most smiles. we all like different things in our markers so the advice you get anywhere is likely to vary widely.

Also I have a few questions..

1. How do the Ego8 and Ego7 compare? Is the Ego8 worth the extra cost?

from my personal experience, the answer to the second question above is 'yes'. there were a number of sizeable improvements from the Ego7 to the Ego8: LPR, HPR, solenoid, QEV, bolt, and rammer. i have owned my share of PE markers (Eteks, Etek2s, Ego7, Ego8s, SL94, Geo) and the Ego8 has consistently been the best of them all.

2. I also like the sounds of the Geo and Druid. How do they compare?

well, we'd need to know what it is that you'd like to compare. from a bell 'n whistles perspective, the Geo has the distinctive PE clamshell hard case, an LED screen on the gripframe, and it is easier to maintain as it has a much smaller and simpler drivetrain. so, from an amenities perspective the nod would definitely go to the Geo. additionally, in the Geo's favor, PE offers superb customer service where MacDev's can be a little trying at times. from a craftsmanship perspective the two markers are equal as both PE and MacDev offer only quality goods. however, from a pure shooting perspective the Geo doesnt compare at all to the Droid. the Droid is a significantly smoother and more consistent shooter and this difference, for me, puts the Droid well ahead of the Geo in spite of the other points in the Geo's favor.

3. I dont know much about DMs but Iv heard good things.

like the Droid, Dye's DM series of markers are superb shooters. i have owned a DM7 and currently own a DM6 and they are insanely smooth. in fact, they're such good shooters that i am sold on Dye and the Matrix is my prefered marker line. again, like the Droid, they have a longer and more elaborate drivetrain which requires a little more TLC than the aforementioned Geo, or any poppet-valved marker (Vice, Marq, Ego, Etek, Legend, Mini, etc), but the rewards are well worth the time invested.

Thanks for any help!
one thing you should keep in mind as you read through all of the great thoughts and insight that you'll get here is that every one of us is offering you his or her own opinion and these opinions are based on personal experience and preference. no one's opinion is necessarily right or wrong, we all just like what we like for our own reasons and we're always ready to champion our prefered shooter. i personally dont think you can make a 'wrong' or 'bad' decision if you're choosing between a DM, Droid, or any PE marker as they're all top-shelf. its kinda the car-shopping equivalent of picking b/w an Acura, an Infinity, and a Lexus - can you really go wrong with any of them? good luck, my man, and dont forget to keep us all in the loop and post of pics of whatever you choose.

Im pretty sure the next gun I buy will be a Dye something because smoothness and accuracy are probably the 2 most important things to me.
