Hey guys, just wondering what is the most efficient and consistent marker out there stock, both NIB and once broken in. Any stats to back up your claims would be highly valuable as well, thanks!
Also, I'm interested in getting either a Luxe, a Geo or a Victory, out of those three, which is the most efficient and consistent stock and what are your thoughts on those guns.

Here I was about to say a viking w/ robtown valve. whoops.
Out of those three I know the victory is supposed to get 1800ish shots off a 68/45. Haven't really followed the geo or luxe. But good consistency at that price point should be a given assuming your using decent paint with a good barrel match. |

I wanted opinions on all guns first, then on the 3 I listed lol. I'm just curious to see which guns shoot nicer than others, especially ones I don't know much about. Thanks for the reply though!

I'm not sure if you're a Smart Parts fan or not, but they are coming out with a new Impulse that is supposed to be in the 1700-1800 range on 68/45's. It looks like a cross between an Ego and a Luxe IMO. There are some vids floating around the net if you want to check it out.

Oh yea, I've seen the stuff about the new version of the impulse. Not a big fan of stacked tube designs, and not exactly a big sp fan. I know luxe is a subcompany of sp, but its outstanding performance does speak greatly in favor of it, so I may be a bit of a hypocrite for liking the luxe and not liking anything sp lol. Basically, not too interested in the new impulse, but the efficiency does seem to rival that of a victory.

I dont know about consistency since i have never shot one but i know the Bob Long Protege and Vice can get over a case on a 68 4500 in stock form. I have been eyeing the protege in dust olive i just think that marker looks great but i don't have to $600 dollars to drop on one at the moment.

Stock efficiency and consistency means nothing with crappy paint and bad barrel match.

I like the idea of getting the viking with the RT valve.
If you want something not quite as good but a lot lighter and newer i'm very fond of the MacDev Cyborg RX. The luxe is known to get not very good efficiency. |

What kind of efficiency are you looking for? What kind of games do you usually play, how many rounds do you shoot in a normal day of play, what's your HPA refill situation like, and what kind of tank do you have now?
If you play mostly pick-up games where you only need to be on the field more 30 minutes at most, then does that mean you can come back to the staging area at regular intervals to resupply and refill? Or are you in a lot of scenario events where you need to be self-sufficient for hours at a time? If you only use 1000 shots in a day, then pretty much any electro-pneumatic marker will reach that with as small as a 45/4500 tank. Or maybe you're the cover fire specialist and use a case or more a day. If you mostly play at a field that offers all-day air fills, then can you get away with a small tank that you top off once or twice throughout the day? Or do you go for rec ball where you have to provide enough air to last the whole day? Finally if you've got a monster tank already, like an 88/4500 or bigger, then you may already get 2000+ shots out of it so extra efficiency may not be a big deal to you. Personally I'd worry a whole lot more about consistency than efficiency. If my marker is 25% less air efficient but 25% more consistent than another, ( ridiculously huge percentages for this case, but just to illustrate the point, ) that means I can tag someone with fewer shots which can mean less overall air usage, not to mention less paint spent. |
