Those of you who have been following things know the theme for LL3 will be “The Blues Brothers Return.” The two sides will be the Blues Brothers Band and the assorted entities who oppose them, known collectively as The Man.”
The first commander to step up is known as a “lone wolf” of sorts, but is well known and respected by players and teams across the country. His ability to focus on the game, include everyone in the plan, and make sure everyone has a great time has made him a popular commander to play for, and an asset to any commander he signs on with.
Commanding the “Blues Brothers” side will be none other than Daniel “Barney” Alamo!
His opponent hales from the Midwest, and is a member of one of the region’s most infamous scenario teams, who have been a part of the command staff at both of the previous Living Legends events. He hasn’t missed a game since joining the team, and is well-respected as one of their hardest working teammates. In his twenty plus years of playing he has learned a lot, and continues to strive to become a better player.
Leading the forces of “The Man”, as the Director of the Illinois State Police, will be DJ “Honu” Fox of The Hellions!
By the way, based on some suggestions from others, both here and outside the forums, and with the urging and cooperation of our commanders, I am excited to announce that we will be doing something a bit different for this game so as to best assign the teams both by talent and region.
While every consideration will be given to requests by the teams, ultimately the commanders will be working together, with my cooperation, to divide the teams evenly and cooperatively between the two sides. The goal is to crete two balanced sides in all regards. We will be taking into consideration many factors including the region they are from, the percentage of time usually spent on the field, whether they are known for mission running or interdiction, skill and propensity for night play, and many other factors. The goal is to create one of the most evenly-matched sides in the history of scenario paintball and, ultimately, one of the most fun.
Both commanders are currently working on choosing an XO from the other commander's home region in an effort to further ensure a good mix of regions on both sides. Obviously each XOs team will accompany them.
So when you pre register feel free to request a side, and this will be considered during the "draft." We will be working continuously as registrations come in, but teams and players will NOT be assigned until they register, so be sure and get registered ASAP.
This is a new approach to dividing up teams and players, but we are all confident that this will make the best possible playing experience for everyone by creating the best mix of teams, and the most evenly-matched sides, that we possibly can. We hope that everyone will be as excited about this as we are to be part of it!
This WILL be the event of the year! Game ON!!!
