Many years of war and political rivalry has started to tear apart the United States. Republicans and Democrats have fought over every seat in the Congress, Senate, and that most coveted position, the Presidency. The election of the first minority leader to take the seat at the head of the free world was supposed to be an event that would herald a time of peace, but instead started an even larger landslide of events that no one could have foreseen that threatens to tear the entire nation apart.

Rogue members of the GOP have seen a danger in the newly emerging world order and have tapped its most powerful members to enter the fray. The Skull and Crossbones Society, known for its exclusivity and long list of illustrious members that include everyone from spies and generals to supreme court justices and past presidents, has been told to begin raising an army to protect the country that had built from the shadows since their inception. The Grand Council, the shadowy leaders of the Skulls begin tapping their contacts throughout the country and the world. Dozens of special forces groups and soldiers of fortune gather to the call. However a mole in the Skulls has provided enough information for the President to make his own arrangements.

In order to prevent the media disaster that would come of a civil conflict before he even comes to power, the President organizes a defense, his top commanders and generals mustering a special operations force, made up of specialists and soldiers from across all the branches of the military. To keep them separated from the government, each soldier is operationally taken off active duty and hired by the cover company for the specialized force, Aegis Inc. as private contractors. Known internally as Loyalist Inc., the President makes sure that there is always an operative within sight. But as the day of his inauguration draws near, security leaks and new dangers abound.

Now, upon the eve of the inauguration, the Skulls and the rebel GOP get ready to launch an offensive in a daring attack to seize ultimate POLITICAL POWER.

Characters

Loyalists

President Eli Balogun
The newly elected president is a cool headed individual. Known throughout the world as the “Light of the Sudan”, the young politician is no dove when it comes to warfare. A veteran of two campaigns as a grunt, Eli has served with distinction and earned his position as president through his natural ability to lead and his decisive voice. The fact that he is the first president that is a minority as well is more of a footnote to him. With his casual grin and friendly demeanor, most dismiss him as yet another liberal that’s all talk and no action.

General Masa Aoki
Eli’s old commanding officer from the desert wars, he was an obvious choice for the chief of staff, but with the news from the Skull informant, his role switched from a newly appointed politician to general once more. Having worked heavily with private defense contractors in the wars as well as having a charismatic personality of his own, Aoki quickly assembled Aegis Inc. when asked. His understanding of surgical strikes and troop movements will be instrumental in the coming trials.

Director Cedric Wolfen
The newly appointed head of the CIA, Wolfen is an ex-spook who’s been married 3 times and prefers his coffee black. Beyond that, not much is known about him besides the fact that both the KGB and Mossod treat the mention of his name akin to something like a plague, with mixed awe and fear.

Dr. Elric Ruminov
Head scientist at NASA, Dr. Elric’s research is one of the pivotal reasons Balogun was elected. Having discovered a new form of nuclear fission, Balogun promised to fund his research if elected. Now Elric’s research has shifted from simple power problems to much more complimented military issues. However, Ruminov has shown that his ingenuity has no bounds.

Dust
Aoki’s special operative in the field, he prefers not to be called by his real name as he’s also in charge of field reconnaissance and weapon acquisitions. Needless to say, Dust is a busy man and utilizes all of Aegis’ resources in his quest to get the upper hand on the Skulls.


Rebels and Skull and Bones

President Gregory Brash
The incumbent president, after losing the race he immediately began assembling the resources needed for a coup. A proud son of Texas, he’s just as decisive as his opponent but has a much more sordid history during wartime. A veteran of the same campaigns, his record is tarnished with the supposed mutiny he led against his commanding officer in the gulf that lead to the death of his CO as well as one of his fellow soldiers. After quiet maneuvering by his then Congressman father, the mark was erased and he was able to continue down the political path laid down by his predecessors. An early initiate to the Skulls, it was easy to find backing by his shadowy brothers.

General Tim Rayden
Head of task force Alpha, Rayden is Brash’s childhood friend as well as head of homeland defense acquisition. A four star general just before Brash fell from power, Rayden became head of Lightning Solutions, a private defense firm based in Austin. Using his contacts within the country, he’s assembled a vast network of soldiers across the country ready to act at a moments order.

General Steven Tomlen
Tomlen leads task force Bravo, the Rebel GOP branch in charge of weapon acquisition and research. Contracting with arms dealers and shadowy terrorist cells, the General has been able to outfit the entirety of the Rebel GOP without spending a traceable cent. His ability to find and purchase new mercenary contracts makes him invaluable to the cause.

Admiral David Cromwell
An ex-SAS operative and old warbuddy of Brash, Cromwell heads task force Delta, the intelligence gathering arm of the Rebel GOP. His men are known for their comfortable familiarity with brutal interrogation tactics that make even the Russian mob look away in disgust.

One
The head of the Grand Council, not much is known about him/her at this time.
