Thanks again for all the replies.
If there are no major flaws with the Mini worth mentioning, it seems like the most logical choice. It costs a significant amount less than the Etek 3, whilst still providing excellent performance. You should realize that paintballing is purely recreational for me, thus negating any reason to purchase something with features that I would probably never use. This is originally what made the Mini such an attractive proposition. It's compact, light, capable and easy to maintain without a massive price tag. The only reason why I haven't taken the plunge is because of the Asiatic origin of the marker. My first choice was a Tippmann A5, but after firing an electro-pneumatic marker and seeing the ease of maintenance, compactness and capabilities of such markers, my mindset quickly changed. My original choice was the GOG Envy, or the old Smart Parts Vibe. It wasn't too expensive whilst still giving a solid, albeit entry-level, electro platform. Why my thoughts shifted to the Mini is because the price difference justified the upgrade in benefits you get with the Mini. The Etek 3 and Mini are comparable in terms of performance, but if the Mini suffers from problems due to its origin of manufacture, such as inferior aluminum used, or design flaws severely influencing the performance of the marker, I'll rather pay the premium for something manufactured in the UK. It however does not seem the case, as explained by the first hand experiences of the friendly members of this forum, thus making it the obvious choice. Do you agree? |

I agree that regardless of whre the Mini is manufactured, it is a tough and reliable marker. I switched from the X7 to the Mini and one of the biggest reasons was no need to upgrade in order for it to shoot as advertised. I also no longer need an hour for marker maintenance. Remove screw, remove bolt, wipe, lube, reinsert. Done.
When I was a noob, I enjoyed shooting full auto with my X7. It was fun, but then I began to focus on my skill set and now I only shoot in semi. I think you have thought this all the way through and it's time to move on your decision. I don't think the difference in price between a Mini and an ETek equals the difference in just material quality and tolerances. The Etek is a more advanced marker, but at the same time do not interpret this statement as saying the Mini is not a great marker.
