A dremel would work much better and was going to be my suggestion.

If this allen screw is being stripped so easily then people are either using the incorrect allen wrench or are tightening it too tight.

Good luck with your repair and do keep us posted.

Yes a dremel would work fine.

If you really struggle you can araldite (epoxy glue) an allen key into the hole - although the allen key will have to be thrown away once you get the bolt out.

I dont know why people are stripping these so much. They only need to be nipped tight, they are only biting into relatively soft aluminium?

I bought my used gun with a stripped detent screw, I used a mastercraft screw remover set and got it out easily. Give that a try.

I find that the allen key that they provide you for this screw seems a little small (i dont know if its the screw or the allen key itself... but one doesnt fit the other quite properly.

i watch people all the time at the field using hex keys that are slightly too small. a hex should fit snuggly in the screw head with very litle to no play side-to-side.

Yeah, either an EZOut or a simple Screw Extractor. Its the best 3 dollars I've spent.

Whatever you do, do NOT put a dremel to your Mini.

Again...DO NOT USE A DREMEL

i agree with hoot. If you are going to cut a slot into a bolt a hack saw blade will be much easier to control and reduce the chance of the dremel slipping off and causing damage to your mini. Just go slow and use a couple of back strokes (pull the blade back across the head but dont push it forward reset and do it a couple of more times) to get the groove started. This will help keep the blade from jumping. It will also be easier to control the depth of your cut. But i would say your best bet is to use an easy out
