Default Best Settings for Quietness and Consistency

Hi guys, I have a tm15 and would like to know what the best settings are for quietness with decent consistency (+/- 5) I used to roll with an sp8 that was setup really nice. It was dead on consistent and was super quiet. However I gave up efficiency and on full auto I had some drop off issues. I know all about the give and take on the setups, its just I wanted to know what you guys have found to be the best setup for what I mentioned with the mini platform. Thanks IOG, Hambo

Edit: Thanks soulcar!

The best settings for consistency I suggest you follow MaxOC's Tuning Guide for efficiency. I know it's PBN, but I couldn't have written that thread any better.

As for quietness, I've noticed an extreme drop in decibels when I switched from stock barrel to a Deadlywind Fibur barrel. It does require a Freak insert for it to work. My Pinokio is now louder than my Mini and I am not exaggerating!

Thank you Soulcar! Spelling is almost (not quite) a pet peeve of mine lol. Tigar, I wonder since the guide is for efficiency if that would make the gun more consistent because I know a lot of times when you make a gun consistent you give up some efficiency and vice versa. Also on the barrel, I have a Flasc barrel thats supper ported so it will bleed off most of the sound inside of the shroud.

Oh and on a side note, we had a track and field indoor meet last year at Christopher Newport University in Newport News.

Since there are many other things that will affect your consistency (paint 2 barrel match, o-ring maintennce, tank regulator, Mini regulator) I say start with tuning your marker for efficiency.

If you use a barrel kit, have inspected/replaced/lubed your bolt's o-rings, know your tank's regulator internals are in good shape, then like it says in the MaxOC guide up your dwell a little if you are still experiencing large consistency problems.

Side Note - You live in NN?! When are you playing PB next? I'm playing 1/30 down at Fox Brothers in Va Beach.

All good points to remember when wanting to maintain any high end platform. I keep all of those covered as my "mini" gets broken down and lubed up before and after every outing. The barrel I am using right now is J&J Edge kit I usually roll with the .691 back just because I like to oversize. And of course I use HPA. Crossfire 68/4500. Once I get my new barrel I'll sit down with the guide and work my way down its checklist.

I live in the upper part of SC. We traveled up there for a meet lol. You should still make it down to to Fulda Gap in November. Its in Taylorsville NC. There was 957 people there last Nov with 13 tanks.

lol, OK got ya.

I was one (see below) of those 957 along with many others here because that was the place for the 2009 OG Forum Meet & Greet. You can read more about it in the December issue of Shooting Hot Magazine.

Oh Cool, I played for NATO myself (82nd Airborne). Idk if you were in Sim City at the end of the day on Sunday, but I was the slim guy in Marpat that made like 8 attempts to flip the flag with no weapon. I got it flipped on my last try with smoke cover and 30 seconds to go but they flipped it back right before the buzzer.

Oh yeah, I was there and saw the whole ending. There was so much commotion and friendly fire happening that it was hard to move.

Yeah it didn't help that we had no armor support during that whole battle and they had 2 tanks just bunkered down in the field pelting us.
