Hello.
I just bought myself a TM15. I have no experience with the Mini platform & would appreciate any tips that you might be able to offer. The gun just arrived this weekend & I will not be able to test it out, play around with it, until Tuesday at the earliest. I have been reading up & researching it for a couple of months so far but have not really looked into Mini based troubleshooting. Any suggestions on spare parts to stock? I plan on having it fed from a airsoft box magazine (thanks Warwitch!) Warwitch posted a thread about his mods in a couple of forums but I am not sure if he is on this one & I am still unsure about the rules on linking to other forums yet. I already have most of the parts for that (box mag, pulse hopper + rf setup.) I already own a full freak kit & JJ edge kit but have been eyeing the flasc sqb barrel & also the trinity rifled barrel. So I have some experimenting to do with those & possibly buy the flasc. If anybody has experience with the flasc or trinity barrels please chime in. I might be dropping the stock in favor of on-gun bottle setup. I have ran remote for a long, long time so I still do not know yet. But I do not like how my goggles feel against the stock - Im still messing around with the stock sights which I am replacing with a square shooter sight that I love, that miight give me more room with a higher sight window. I have been using automags since '92 and have a large collection of AA adjustable regs which I usually run remote with. I have been looking at the guerrilla air myth g2s just to simplify things & with the possibility of an on-gun setup. I am used to running like 1000psi into the mags, the myths puts out what like 650psi?(mid pressure but I am checking to see if they can do a low pressure output if needed.) I know about the bottom-line regulator. But I dont want to put more pressure into the gun if that regulator has a problem. The manual suggests 350-400 for fixed or 400-500 for an adjustable output regulator. What do you guys usually put into your minis & at what pressure is damaged caused to the internals? Any help & suggestions will be appreciated. Long post, sorry. Im here thinking & typing rather than loading & shooting... |

Welcome to the OG.
The TM15 really doesn't have all that much to upgrade. It comes pretty good as is. Maybe a nicer barrel to keep the look and performance equal such as a Lapco Assault to give you the innerchangable tip choices like Apex or whatnot. I personally am against dropping the stock for the tank on the gun. Defeats the purpose of MilSim. If you wanted to have a bottle on a gun like that, shoulda saved the 150 and gotten a straight Mini. The output of your tank reg doesn't make a difference. What you need to do is make sure the on-gun regulator has its gauge kept BELOW 200. Most of us run our Mini's at 180 PSI or so. High pressure or low pressure doesn't make any difference as long as the on-gun reg is kept at or below recommended levels. Keep your remote line setup as this will ensure simple air up and degassing. If you really want to get the bottle on gun, get a New Designz Thread Saver On Off ASA. Screws in back and saves your threads from being ripped up when air is put into the gun. I like the idea of a Box Mag. Check out our members website from on the X7OG, Dhallak. He runs a company called Scenario Arms and makes a drum mag/battery mag. You could likely set up something with that as a very good looking and operational setup. Scenario Arms LLC. Hope this has been helpful and search around, maybe you will find some other ideas. ~DJ

Welcome!! Those TM15s sure are good lookin marker.
I know the manual says its best to use LP tank but I along with everyone else here uses HP and we have no problems and HP works on more guns so its more usable. Unless you see an Angel in your near future I would go with an 850 output. |

Welcome to the forum Wunderwaffen and I'm sure you'll enjoy your first battery marker.
![]() One of the great things about the Mini platform is that it performs best with its stock internals. As far as extra stock parts you can purchase a Mini Players Part kit wich will include spare poppit, detents, screws, battery harness, as well as orings. My suggestion is to start with an oring kit from oring monkey because your TM15's spare parts kit already comes with screws and detents. If you are thinking about slapping the tank onto the TM15 you may want to try out different sizes from the small booby tank (45-50) to a size 68. You'll be best off taking your TM15 to your local PB store, putting a New Designz Thread Saver on it, and then screwing in different sized tanks until you've found the "one". I've become a fan of Ninja tanks and they have a lot of different sizes, but GA also makes great tanks from what I read. I run my Mini with a 68/45 Ninja tank. I did not lower its output pressure from 800 to 650 or to 550. My Mini's regulator is set at 190. The regulator does have a purge valve if you accidentally turn up the pressure too much so your internals should be OK if you accidentally turn the adjustment screw the wrong way. Most issues with the Mini are due to low battery or an oring needing to be replaced. Throw up some pics when you're done with your set up because I'd like to see how it looks with the tank on it. Oh yeah, as far as external links posted here, you will be held responsible for what's in them. As stated in the rules:

Welcome to the OG. The TM15 is a great marker and what I run for my primary. One suggestion I have is to hook up a full HPA tank and turn the eyes off and shoot it out. Any mini based platform takes at least 1500 shots to break in the spring and that is a great way to do it with out wasting ammo, and making sure when you take it out to the field for the first time you are dialed in even more in your fps.

Thanks for the replies. I did not get out to shoot today but I am off tomorrow as well. Was expecting another snow storm & had to run some errands during the afternoon before it hit. Plus I went to see a movie, "Book of Eli," with a buddy. I liked it. It was better than I expected after reading the reviews with plenty of gore & action.
Yeah I still do not know about the tank. I want to keep it on. I love the idea & looks of the stock. I originally wanted to upgrade the stock, buffer tube & put a buffer tube sling mount on it. The stock stock is great. The thread saver is a great idea. Plus the all the tanks that I have now are big carleton 88ci'ers... But it would be great to simply be able simply to put the gun down or swap hands easily.I have tried out some red dot sights on the gun and with my mask (JT proflex) I do not get a proper sight picture. I just can't get down close enough even with the goggles on the stock. The dot is always shifted since I am viewing it at an angle. I guess I need a riser or a off -set rail. I shopped around for a holo sight/eotech before but the cost is still too expensive even used and I do not know if the clones actually work like the real ones-meaning you get proper target acquisition from any angle. What are the usual problems/weaknesses with the mini platform? What usually goes out on you? Any poppet valve, solenoid or air transfer issues? I plan on getting the parts kit very soon. But I would like to assemble a nice trouble-shooting box for those "rainy" days when nothing goes right. I guess it came from dealing with automags since with those you are on your own at the field. Just about nobody recognizes them anymore much less has any spare parts for them. Has anybody ever removed the reg/ASA and ran a direct link? When the TM7 first came out I thought it would be nice if it had either a fake mag below the grip that hide a qd nipple or even just to have the qd nipple there for remote. The reg/asa always seemed big/clunky and unnecessary for remote use. Here are links to Warwitch's thread that inspired me. One is on automags.org & the other is pbnation. It would be hard to drop the asa/reg because the solenoid will break if it has above 200 psi..
So you would have to have a different reg, or the same one, but hidden. You would also have to get something made up that fits in the threads of the air transfer tube (because i assume its not 1/8 standard fitting |
