The APE board allows you to change many settings and it also had 5 individual Profiles so you can have a customized Profile for any situation you encounter. The default setting for the Auto Shut Off function is set at only 3 minutes. Well, I easily pass 3 minutes of no action playing woodsball so below I will discuss how I changed it to 30 minutes. The max is 60 minutes and each blink is worth 3 minutes..
There are numerous menus and sub-menus but below is the path I have to take to make this change. Startup Options -> Profiles -> Programming Menu -> Marker Control Setpoints ->Auto Shut Off-> 1 Blink Don't forget to take the battery cover off so you can see the LED's on the board. ![]() 1. Enter the Startup Options menu: hold trigger, push on/off button 1x, release trigger 2. The external light should be blinking Red which means you are in the “Programming Mode” Startup Option. 3. Push the Power Button 1x to select Programming Mode and the external light will switch to a solid white color. 4. You are now in the Profiles section. a. There are 5 profiles you can scroll through but “Default” is the one you want and is represented by the solid white light, so press the Power Button 1x to select this profile. The white light will turn off and you should now turn your attention to the LED lights on the board itself. 5. Now you are in the “Default” profile and now you can make Programming changes to it. a. You should see a blinking Red LED on the Ape board. This is good. 6. There are 4 programming Menus within each Profile and the one you want is called “Marker control Setpoints” and this menu is represented by the blinking Yellow LED. a. Squeeze the trigger 1x to change the LED from Red to Yellow. 7. Hold the trigger until this Yellow LED goes off and then release the trigger to enter the “marker Control Setpoints” submenu. a. A Red LED on the board will reappear but now it represents the 1st of 11 different options. b. “Auto Shut Off” is the 11th option 8. Squeeze the trigger 11 times and you will see the LED board lights change with each pull a. The Auto Shut Off option is represented by a Red, Yellow and Blue solid LED 9. Pull and hold the trigger until the Red, Yellow, and Blue LED’s turn off and then release the trigger to enter the Auto Shut Off option. a. The external light will flash the current setting which is 1 blink. Remember, each blink represents 3 minutes. 10. To change this setting, pull and hold the trigger until the Red, Yellow, and Blue LED’s turn off and then release. a. Pull the trigger 10x (=30 minutes) and you will see the external light blink with each pull. 11. Push the Power button 1x to accept your new setting. 12. The external light will now blink 10 times instead of 1. 13. Press and hold the power button until the marker turns off to save your new setting.

I'll be doing this one as well Thank you for taking the time to do this. I really do despise the instructions that APE provides. It would be really good if they would provide walk-thru's on their website just like this.
